WHAT IS VANITY PUBLISHING? Traditional? Hybrid? or Vanity Publishers?, confused? There is every reason to be confused. Vanity publishing is an absolute minefield, I hope I can clear some of the differences to help you make a better choice. Where to Start? Authors can spend hours worrying whether or not to sign a contract with a publisher who has been very complimentary about their book. However the publisher may be asking for a 'contribution towards the cost of publishing the book'. in some cases costing thousands. This blog is aimed at vanity press and not traditional or hybrid offers The very first point to make is that  - traditional publishers w ill not request a contribution. Traditional publishers only take on work they believe is worth investing their own money in, they are confident it will give them a return on their investment, they are prepared to put their money where their mouth is! Unfortunately this is a leading  reason...

The biggest online place to publish is without doubt Amazon with 42% of the market share.  However, the question is.  Are they the best? If you are looking at eBook publishing Amazon offers three opportunities.        ·           Kindle Direct Publishing,(KDP) ·           Kindle Direct Publishing Select (KDP Select)    ·           Kindle Edition Normalized Page (KENP). Readers – Winners! They have some great options open to them, Author deals, and   KDP for the volume reader. Authors – Losers! I am writing this from an author’...

Turn Around World   The dust now settled and the embers gone cold Did the lucky ones die young or survivors grow old Both fought with strength with honour and grace Every battle scar and trench stench showed on their face   We cry for the fallen their youth not seen through Future generations all thrown askew Ten million died both sides of the fence Was that really the world with common sense Tommies stood in Ypres, they called it wipers It wasn’t a breeze avoiding shells, gas, barbed wire and snipers   The men who survived if fit and able From the English Royal Oak to the Canadian Maple Their memories from war sitting heavy like a boulder Haunting for life as they grow older The men never spoke of all they witnessed Never asked for pity, sorrow or forgiveness They just lived on, no work to be found Just like the fallen driven to ground   Life goes on, through both rain and sun Surrender declared but who really won Reme...
